My story

I grew up in Minnesota and eventually moved to Georgia but come from a long line of Nordic heritage. I have always loved the Nordic lifestyle. There is something wholesome , warming , powerful and even ruthless about their culture and climate. This is where the Grumpy Viking name came from.  At times I tend to be grumpy and being from Nordic decent my wife started calling me a grumpy viking. It kind of stuck and thus ended up becoming the name of the company.
I am now in my mid 40's with a wife , two teenagers, two doodles ( yep i said doodles ) and although I may not look much like a Viking I still try to convey those Nordic roots through this website, my media sites and even my lifestyle as well.
Life is too short to waste it on things that don't matter. We need to remember our past as to not repeat it but we need to push on, push forward..... We need to Burn the Ships! You will find that mantra throughout Grumpy Viking Leather Co. I try to live by that code... to Burn the Ships and don't look back just like the Vikings of old. Better days are ahead and the only way we can truly enjoy and embrace them is to let go of past failures, past regrets..... BURN THE SHIPS !

In the height of Covid in 2020 I came across a few "EDC" pages on Instagram. I started following them as I myself love to collect knives, challenge coins etc. Over time it had become a passion and in the middle of that passion was born the idea to start working with leather. I didn't have a single clue what I was doing then nor do I still from time to time (lol) but I am enjoying the ride and am trying to better myself with each new piece that I make from scratch. Everything I sell on this website with leather is handmade, hand sewn and made with a deep respect for the craft of leatherwork. I hope to one day be an accomplished leatherworker but know that it will take years and years to build a proficiency for it.
More leather crafted items will continue to make their way onto this website and I am excited and energized to bring these items to life for you.

Thanks for taking a moment to read these ramblings ..... I hope you got a better idea of who and what I am and what this website is about . If you like this website and media can you please do me a solid and pass this site along to a friend , colleague , and or family member. I would really appreciate it !
Takk!My wife and I at Skogafoss in Iceland
